I did work really hard on it so thank you guys for the nice words...

Anyway, due to his very strong AFL campaign that ended less than a week ago, I think he does get picked. He is probably worth the risk, and my guess is that if a team decides not to keep him after spring, they might work out a deal with the Jays to keep him.

@Xave Obviously their names are funny, but both are nasty and are probably going to get taken in the first round. Hamburger is more of a sure thing. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see AA take a gamble on him.

@Matt Emaus probably isn't more than a Wes Helms at the big league level, but I do think he should have been protected. To answer your question, both!SPANdemoniumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06242380786902453037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1010722690692900108.post-70367509318986384202010-11-26T10:18:46.961-05:002010-11-26T10:18:46.961-05:00Wow. So since the league will get there shot at him one way or another, Rule V is a better option plus it keeps a roster spot open.

If we lose him in the Rule V, we have first shot at getting him back should the claiming team no longer want him on their active roster (25-man). If he was claimed on waivers in the Spring, we would lose that right to him if the claiming team wanted to send him to the minors.Gil Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01177204960812280259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1010722690692900108.post-10788437166364067322010-11-25T02:27:39.490-05:002010-11-25T02:27:39.490-05:00First thing I see: There's a guy named Mark HA...First thing I see: There's a guy named Mark HAMBURGER - awesome. Second thing I see is about Loewen. I'm betting the thinking is that even if he gets claimed, what are the chances he sticks around in the majors with another team all year in 2011? Maybe AA is just playing the odds on that one. Emaus to me seems more ready, and thus more likely to be picked. The Human Rain Delayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07811561308646191279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1010722690692900108.post-88240345373895284132010-11-24T23:35:56.027-05:002010-11-24T23:35:56.027-05:00What baffles me is why didn't they put Emaus a...What baffles me is why didn't they put Emaus and Loewen on the 40 man to protect them from the Rule 5?

Especially with Loewen - if the organization is going to spend all that time and money grooming him, why risk the potential of another team picking him up?Ian Hunterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01074587524873409802noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1010722690692900108.post-57158961456430089502010-11-24T23:01:55.105-05:002010-11-24T23:01:55.105-05:00Whoever he is, that SPANdemonium guy sure knows ho...Whoever he is, that SPANdemonium guy sure knows how to do reasearch, write an article, and he definetly knows his minor leaguers...I'm sure he's a pretty cool guy as well

waitSPANdemoniumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06242380786902453037noreply@blogger.com
